Adolescence, a period of transition between childhood and adulthood, refers to the period in which individuals face physiological changes that are also translated into social changes with the awakening of sexuality. At this time, young people are exploring this novelty by dealing with romantic and sexual desires and, as a result, carelessness resulting from a lack of guidance can impact the health, social context and future of the teenager in different ways.
Dropping out of school, discrimination and the possible biological consequences of pregnancy are examples of how a young person's life can be impacted. Thus, the present study evaluated the perception of teenage pregnancy and its consequences. The study was carried out in two public europe mobile number list schools in the city of Paudalho/PE with the participation of 193 students aged 15 to 19 who answered questionnaires about the topic studied. Based on the data obtained, educational measures were applied in order to direct students on behaviors that should be adopted to prevent the transmission of sexually transmitted infections and unplanned pregnancies. Keywords: Adolescence, Education, Pregnancy, Prevention, Sexuality. INTRODUCTION Adolescence refers to the period experienced from 15 to 19 years of age and is marked by anatomical, hormonal and psychosocial transformations.
At this stage of life, several new experiences occur that contribute to the construction of the individual's personality and which, therefore, will reflect on adult life. The effects of sexual maturation and the development of sexuality translate into the exercise of sexual freedom, including sex, since it is generally in adolescence that the first sexual intercourse occurs (FIEDLER, ARAÚJO, SOUZA, 2015; ARAÚJO et al. , 2016 ). With the advent of technology, adolescents have acquired habits that expose them to sexual stimuli at an earlier age (NERY et al., 2020) which, combined with the lack of guidance on sexuality, influence the occurrence of early and unwanted pregnancies (VITOR et al . , 2021).
